Jaylon Sims (Mr. Sims) is a recent graduate of Eastern Michigan University (EMU) and an alumnus of the EMU Honors College. While at EMU, Mr. Sims specialized in the area of Elementary Music Methods, Choral Methods, and Vocal Pedagogy with voice as his primary instrument. Additionally, Mr. Sims also studied piano and guitar as secondary instruments.
Before joining the Oxford community, Mr. Sims was the Music Director for Church of the Good Shepherd (Ann Arbor) and the K-6 General Music Education Teacher at Whitmore Lake Elementary School. Mr. Sims completed his elementary student teaching at Creekside Elementary in Hartland, MI and secondary student teaching at Creekside Intermediate, Mill Creek Middle School, and Dexter High School in Dexter, MI. Mr. Sims has also worked with the Skyline High School Choir Camp and the EMU Community Music Academy. |
